How to sound like an AI Guru

How to sound like an AI Guru
The DevOps Monitoring Guy

Everybody is terrified of being left behind by people who know how to use AI properly.

Luckily, actually knowing what you’re doing is optional. You mostly need to sound like you’re fully in control and comfortably ahead of the hype cycle.

Here are a few simple rules.

Stop saying things like:

“I asked ChatGPT, and it said X.”

That makes it sound like you typed a question into a website.

Instead, say:

“My agent independently reached the same conclusion.”

Do not say:

“I used AI to write this.”

Say:

“I prompted a frontier model to synthesize the initial draft.”

Never say that you opened several tabs and compared the answers. You:

“Deployed multiple subagents in parallel to gather evidence and extract signal.”

Periodically insert phrases such as:

  • token optimization
  • prompt engineering
  • agentic orchestration
  • reasoning traces
  • context-window management
  • inference costs
  • evidence gathering
  • signal extraction
  • human-in-the-loop validation

It does not matter whether these phrases accurately describe what happened. Their primary purpose is to make “I asked the chatbot twice” sound like a research department was mobilized.
